To let you know a little about what our development team is currently working on, we had a quick Q&A session with Steffan Klein, one of the founders of ShopFactory, who is in charge of development.

ShopFactory’s 'Checkout process' was recently made compatible with mobile devices. Are there any more developments planned for mobile devices?

We are developing a number of new and exciting tools which are not only targeted at mobile devices but at any other imaginable device...

More and more customers are using smart phones to buy online. As a result we are constantly working on improving how shops behave on mobile devices.

We have just completed the development of improved behaviour of the latest ShopFactory 9 shops on for iPhones and on some of the newer browsers released for different browsers running on the latest Android phones with the ICS operating system.

This will be included in our next ShopFactory 9 release and will make buying on smart phones even easier. You can already now see the results in the online demo store at www.shopfactory.com/demoshop

Are there any other developments for ShopFactory’s 'Checkout process'?

Yes, we have made some changes to the checkout process to allow the display of more details of the purchased products in response to a number of customers requests.

Furthermore, changes have been made so that the shops and the checkout process continue to comply with eCommerce laws in the various countries around the world.

New laws about 'Cookies' and information provided on checkout pages especially in Europe have recently required a lot of attention to make sure, that ShopFactory 9 shops can easily be made to match legal requirements all around the world. We also have a new 'Express checkout' in the works and a 'MyGlobeCharge' mini-site, where customers can check all their orders and check-out details quickly and easily.

There are currently over 60 payment gateways integrated into ShopFactory. Will there be any more?

Yes, we are regularly adding more payment gateways and systems. We have just recently integrated Rabo Omnicassa, PayPal’s Payflow Link and the hosted version of PayPal Pro.

Once we get a number of requests for a new payment gateway popular with our users to integrate we review the requirements and integrate the new payment systems as soon as possible.
