More services and more functionality for users of the ShopFactory shopping cart software - that is the result of a new alliance between 3D3.COM, the makers of the e-commerce solution ShopFactory and GlobeCharge - a leading Internet Order Gateway.

Some of these new services available to ShopFactory are ESD, which will allow the immediate and automatic delivery of software after a purchase, the complete online tracking and administration of resellers and affiliated reseller networks, the creation of statistics and customer email lists as well as fraud protection services. GlobeCharge also allows customers to track the shipping and payment statuses of their orders.
GlobeCharge has furthermore promised to develop additional services which will extend the functionality of ShopFactory with solutions such as password protected entry to websites, which will allow showing different prices to different customers based on their password or automatic stock control.
ShopFactory users now have the choice to have their orders emailed to them free of charge, as in the past — or to set up a GlobeCharge account and accept orders online in a completely secure environment — which also offers an increased reliability.
While it doesn’t happen very often, orders sent via email can at time be lost when an email account is full or other Internet related problems occur. Another issue with emailed orders is that they are only encrypted on the complete way from customer to merchant if PGP is used to encrypt the email, as recommended by 3D3.COM. With a GlobeCharge account this security hole is taken care of.
As a result of this new alliance, the words "Secured by GlobeCharge" are now being displayed on the free SSL Payment Gateway pages of shops created with ShopFactory.
Of course shop owners still have the option as in the past to install the free SSL scripts provided with ShopFactory on their own server.
